In collaboration with The ONE Group, HDA completed Kona Grill, a 7,137-square-foot restaurant renovation in Tigard, Oregon. The project reimagined a dated Mediterranean-style building into a vibrant, contemporary dining destination that integrates seamlessly with its upscale surroundings. The renovation included a full interior and exterior transformation, featuring sleek finishes of large-format ceramic tile, faux wood accents, and deep blue tiled façades.

A standout design element is the elevated steel-framed deck addition, which introduces covered patio seating and ADA accessibility through a stair-and-lift configuration designed within the constraints of the existing foundation. Inside, colorful cloud-inspired ceiling features, pendant lighting clusters, and custom wood-and-glass wine display cabinets elevate the dining experience. Despite the complexities of AV coordination, MEP engineering, and a rigorous envelope review process, HDA delivered a cohesive, modern space that enhances Kona Grill’s growing brand presence and reflects our commitment to design that is both creative and enduring.
