HDA partnered with Gulf Distributing on a large-scale renovation and expansion in downtown Mobile, Alabama, delivering a state-of-the-art headquarters and beverage distribution facility through the adaptive reuse of the historic Press-Register building.
Project Overview
The project includes the renovation of 225,290 square-feet of existing space, an 85,040 square-foot warehouse expansion, a 4,960 square-foot vehicle maintenance facility, and a 9,166 square-foot covered cooperage.
The design carefully balances historic preservation with modern industrial functionality, delivering a highly efficient beverage distribution facility equipped with advanced technologies such as automated storage and retrieval systems, AI-based load recognition, and pallet microchip tracking. The completed facility now serves as Gulf Distributing’s central location for corporate operations, training, and distribution, supporting the company’s continued growth across the Gulf Coast.
