The comprehensive renovation of the 87,930-square-foot Marilyn Fox Building reimagines a long-standing community hub for the St. Louis Jewish Community Center in Chesterfield, Missouri. Originally opened in 1996, the facility has served as a center for wellness, recreation, education, and connection for generations. HDA partnered with the J to modernize the building while preserving the welcoming character and sense of community that members have come to know and value.

The renovation introduced significant upgrades throughout the facility, including a new Adult Day Center, redesigned lobby and gathering spaces, renovated fitness and recreation areas, updates to the Early Childhood Center, expanded kitchen facilities, dedicated pickleball courts, and enhanced security, communications, and building infrastructure systems. Exterior improvements, highlighted by a refreshed main entrance and contemporary metal wall panel system, create a modern arrival experience while complementing the building’s original architecture.

Thoughtfully phased to allow the facility to remain operational throughout construction, the project positions the Marilyn Fox Building to continue serving the evolving needs of the community for generations to come.
