HDA partnered with R+L Carriers and Frampton Construction on a design-build terminal expansion in Montgomery, Alabama, aimed at increasing operational capacity in a rapidly growing regional market. Situated on an 18.3-acre site, the 42,800-square-foot facility is designed to support the efficiency, scalability, and long-term performance of R+L’s logistics network.

The project includes a 67-door terminal expansion with a drive-in door, an 11,200-square-foot maintenance building with six service bays and 10 overhead doors, and a three-lane fuel island. Additional site features include a weigh scale, expanded trailer parking, and a new employee lot with 46 parking spaces. The existing office is also being renovated and expanded to better support day-to-day operations and team needs.

The design approach prioritizes functionality, flow, and future growth—ensuring seamless truck circulation, efficient servicing capabilities, and flexibility for evolving operational demands. From early site development through final construction, the project is thoughtfully planned to deliver a high-performance facility that strengthens R+L Carriers’ presence in the Montgomery region.
