After more than a century of serving communities across Kentucky and Tennessee, Clark Beverage Group and Clark Distributing Company (Clark) is investing in its future with a new headquarters and distribution campus in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Scheduled to break ground in Summer 2026 with completion anticipated in Fall 2027, the state-of-the-art facility has been designed to support Clark’s continued growth while creating a modern, employee-focused environment that reflects the company’s legacy of excellence in beverage distribution since 1903.
“HDA has led a very comprehensive and meticulous design process and has been fantastic to work with,” said Heath Williams, CFO of Clark. “They have provided unique and innovative concepts and done a tremendous job bringing the vision for our new corporate headquarters to life.”
A Campus Designed for Growth
Situated on an 87.5-acre site along Plano Road, the development will total approximately 362,675 square feet and include:
- A 46,600-square-foot two-story corporate office
- A 298,500-square-foot high-performance warehouse
- A 17,000-square-foot fleet maintenance facility
- A 575-square-foot security check-in building
The site has also been strategically planned to accommodate an additional 135,000 square feet of future expansion, ensuring the campus can evolve alongside the company’s long-term growth objectives.
Blending Operational Performance with Employee Experience
The facility was designed to balance the demands of modern beverage distribution with the needs of the people who make those operations possible.
Architecturally, the campus will feature expansive curtainwall glazing, reflective glass, aluminum composite material panels, fiber cement accents, and natural stone details that create a clean, contemporary aesthetic. A dramatic cantilevered glass canopy marks the main entrance, establishing a strong first impression for employees and visitors alike.
Inside, the headquarters office will be anchored by a two-story lobby featuring an open feature stair and glass railing system connecting the first and second floors. The office also includes a dedicated board room with access to a private executive lounge.
The overall site layout was intentionally designed to strengthen connections between office and warehouse operations while creating meaningful gathering spaces throughout the campus.
A Courtyard at the Heart of the Campus
At the center of the development is a large outdoor courtyard designed to support both everyday employee use and company-wide events.
Connected directly to the employee breakroom, the space will feature a covered pavilion, outdoor grill stations, and a custom perforated decorative screen wall incorporating bottle imagery inspired by the beverage industry. The courtyard serves as both a functional amenity and a visual expression of Clark’s identity and culture.
Built for the Future of Beverage Distribution
The warehouse has been designed to maximize efficiency, scalability, and long-term operational performance.
Featuring a 34-foot clear height, the facility will incorporate state-of-the-art automated systems to support high-volume distribution operations and increase overall efficiency. Thirty-six dock positions will provide streamlined loading and unloading capabilities, while dedicated mezzanine areas offer additional storage flexibility as operational needs evolve.
Supporting fleet operations, a separate maintenance facility will provide on-site vehicle servicing, maintenance, and washing capabilities. An adjacent fueling station further enhances productivity and operational efficiency across the campus.
“HDA is honored to partner with Clark on a project that reflects both innovation and long-term vision,” said Pat Holleran, Senior Principal at HDA. “This facility is designed not only to support operational excellence, but to create an environment that prioritizes employee experience, adaptability, and the future of beverage distribution.”
A Legacy of Beverage Industry Expertise
The project further strengthens HDA’s longstanding relationship with the beverage industry, where the firm has designed more than 200 facilities nationwide.
Since 1986, HDA has partnered with beverage distributors and manufacturers across the country to create facilities that support growth, operational efficiency, and long-term success. With more than 150 million square feet of beverage-related projects completed across 44 states and a construction value exceeding $3.5 billion, HDA continues to help shape the future of beverage distribution through thoughtful, industry-focused design.
